Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Sinopec, is located in Jinshan District, Shanghai, covering an area of 9.4 square kilometers. It is a large-scale integrated refining and chemical enterprise in China and the first company to be listed simultaneously in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and New York. Formerly known as Shanghai Petrochemical General Plant, it was founded in 1972 and completed its shareholding reform in 1993. As of the end of 2024, its total share capital reached 10.675 billion shares, making it one of the benchmark enterprises in China's refining and chemical industry.

The company has a comprehensive crude oil processing capacity of 16 million tons per year and an ethylene production capacity of 700,000 tons per year, making it an important production base for refining and chemical products in China. In recent years, the company has successively won numerous honors, including National Civilized Unit, National Advanced Greening Unit, Intelligent Manufacturing Pilot Demonstration Enterprise, and National Green Factory. It also received the Outstanding Contribution Collective Award for its application of torch technology for the Beijing Winter Olympics, demonstrating its comprehensive strength in green development and technological innovation.
