On May 21, 2026, Guangzhou Xujing Technology Co., Ltd. and Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Company Limited officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Focusing on carbon fiber material research, performance optimization and industrial application, the two parties launched in-depth collaboration to improve comprehensive material performance and reduce manufacturing costs, accelerating the large-scale and industrialized application of domestic carbon fiber in high-end manufacturing fields.
Leveraging complementary technical advantages and industrial resources, both sides will jointly carry out targeted technical research and product adaptation, focusing on three core high-end application scenarios for carbon fiber promotion and upgrading.
The two companies will develop high-cleanliness, heat-resistant and dimensionally stable carbon fiber components with low outgassing properties, meeting the strict manufacturing standards of precision semiconductor and display equipment.
Cooperative R&D covers lightweight carbon fiber parts for new energy vehicles, including carbon fiber wheel hubs and interior and exterior decorative components. The new products balance structural strength, safety performance and aesthetic design to support vehicle lightweight upgrading.
Both parties will develop specialized carbon fiber structural components for low-altitude economy equipment, including drones and flying vehicles, to meet the lightweight and high-strength requirements of new aviation equipment.
As an indispensable strategic advanced material for high-end manufacturing, carbon fiber plays a key role in supporting industrial upgrading. Under the new cooperation framework, Shanghai Petrochemical and Guangzhou Xujing Technology will jointly tackle core technical challenges, strictly controlling key performance indicators including mechanical properties, thermal stability and dimensional accuracy.
The two teams will continuously optimize material formulas and manufacturing processes. Through production line adaptation and process synergy, the cooperation aims to lower the application threshold of high-performance carbon fiber in semiconductors, new energy vehicles and low-altitude equipment, realizing large-scale and affordable industrial promotion of domestic carbon fiber materials.
The signing of the cooperation marks a key milestone in the integrated development of China’s domestic carbon fiber industry chain. By breaking through technical bottlenecks and optimizing cost structures, the joint project will drive domestic carbon fiber toward high-performance, low-cost and wide-scale application.
The strategic partnership empowers the high-quality development of China’s new material industry, accelerates the localized replacement of high-end carbon fiber materials, and provides solid material support for the upgrading of domestic high-end manufacturing and emerging low-altitude economy industries.
